KIDDED: Sunday, 17th with Twins! 1 Does and 1 Buck!
Santra was a textbook kidding! I had spent the night before out with her and while she proceeded to keep me up majority of the night, she was loose, full of milk, and completely dropped by the next afternoon. She even allowed time for a nap and some homework before settling down in the kidding yard and getting right to work. I called Danny from cooking to give me a hand and out came a brown buckling! Santra was no muss, little fuss, was delighted with the little boy and we had him completely cleaned and tidied up before she started to push again.
The black doeling was smaller than her brother, but came out screaming! She was not about to let him walk all over her and both were happily fed and away quickly. Though Santra didn’t quite have much colostrum to start with, she picked up quickly.
St. Patties Day Babies were a great start to this year’s kidding season!
