Due Date: 3/28 Kidded 4 Days Early: 3/24
Kidded with TRIPLETS! 2 Boys and 1 Girl!
Santra REALLY wasn't supposed to kid until next week, but apparently no one told HER that! She was looking read to pop for days, bag pooching up and back end loosening significantly. Friday morning we were all agreeing, Tonight. Or at least it better be tonight, because both myself and Mom had to be at school Friday. There was lots of shaking fingers at Santra to WAIT for us, then we were off.
Arriving home to no babies was a relief, however Santra was positioning and certainly looking like getting to business.
After my putsing around and doing whatever it is I do with free afternoons, one of my checks in on Santra was looking very promising. I went in to pick up my phone and skisuit. In no time as all, Santra was pushing like a pro. A lovely moonspotted brown buck came out easily in a nice nose and toes position. While Santra wasn't too interested in the kid, April WAS. April and I dried the boy off while I called Dad and WHAT? Santra was already pushing. I was handing off the buck just in time to catch another brown moonspotted kid, this one a big doe!
We dried the two off and Santra started pushing again, the darker brown spotted buck came out with a little difficulty and had started breathing before he was all the way out. There were a few tense minutes while I tried to clear his lungs and get some breathing going. He sounded very much like a frog there for a bit, but slowly breath came easier and the boy was good!
Santra still has little to no interest in her kids, but they after the initial weakness, all are doing well and we will be moving the new trio to the big pen with the older kids soon!
